Portrait of Poverty

Portrait of Poverty is truly from the old school. They play punk hardcore that is a time warp back into the ‘80s where people “slam danced” and every other punk had a Mohawk or bleached hair. Every song they made was a reflection of their past, from real lows in their lives to just smoking weed and having fun. The clouds of ganja that permeate in their heads definitely add a more stoner-rock influence to their music, but it’s still great punk rock.

These guys have been together for so long that they know how to put on a live show. Shawn’s guitar solos are like Ace Frehley imitations while his vocals are so rough they could scrape paint off a car. With drums that can’t slow down, a driving bass, and a very tight powerful rhythm guitar it all comes together in a sound that hits you like truck. Go watch Portrait of Poverty so you can learn how to rock.
